The Caleva Mini-Mixer:
Operating mechanism

The unique two blade, contra rotating, dual speed, high shear, mixing and blending system ensures efficient mixing without applying unnecessary work to the system.

The two specially designed mixing blades rotate in opposite directions with the secondary shaft rotating at twice the speed of the primary shaft. The secondary shaft with the split blade wipes the material from the slower rotating primary shaft at each turn. This action ensures a complete and thorough mixing of the material in the mixing bowl within a few minutes.

Mixing time and speed can be programmed and standardized. If sample sized are maintained then mixing equivalence can be maintained over several batches.

For smaller sample sizes a “half bowl” unit can be used. This can be added to the system at the time of the current purchase or later.

Terminology:

Spheronisation™*, Pelletisation and Marumerisation all mean the same thing. The manufacture of small round pellets with a limited size spread within a batch. Pellet sizes (sometimes called micropellets or spheroids) can be normally be made within tight size ranges between about 0.5mm and 2.0mm in diameter.

* = Sometimes called: Spheronization or spheroidization.

Small Laboratory Mixer:
Unique Caleva design with twin blade, dual speed, contra rotating, highly efficient mixing system.

Laboratory mixer / granulator from Caleva for small batch sample sizes from 10 to 50 grams.

Typical applications already tested include:

Powder granulation with small quantities of liquid.
Further liquid addition to existing wet granulations
Mixing liquid with dry powder form wet granulations, paste or slurries
Blending small batches of powder
Mixing batches of slurry or cream to an existing slurry or cream

Two different models are available depending on your requirement.

Both units use the same bowl and unique Caleva design twin blade, contra-rotating, dual speed, mixing action.

The "Datastor" Caleva Mini Mixer/Granulator

As above but with the additional option to plug in your computer and record and show in real time:-
- Product temperature in the mixing bowl (infra-red remote sensor)
- Primary blade rpm and total revolutions
- Power usage (current and total power used are recorded)
Data can be stored and printed as a one page summary for permanent hard copy record keeping. Data is also stored electronically in the attached computer.
