- Extrusion is an integral part of the extrusion and spheronisation process.
- A wet mass formed in granulation step is forced through dyes and shaped into small cylindrical particles having a uniform diameter.
- The extrudate formed must have enough plasticity to deform but not be so sticky as to adhere to other particles when placed into the spheroniser.
